The Band - The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down

Without question, The Band is greatest Canadian band of all time. Canadians (with an American drummer) who came to embody the sound of a romanticized American south. As I’m sure you know, they have so many great songs that I could have posted, so I’ve settled on this old classic.

Also, my favorite fun fact about The Band is that the name suposedly comes from people referring to them as ‘the band’ when they were backing Bob Dylan, they were actually called ‘The Hawks’ at the time.

And with that, Canadian music week is dead. Long live Canadian music week!

“Magritte’s work has often been the subject of litigation, most notably in 2003 when the Los Angeles County Museum of Art filed a Treachery of Images charge against the artist’s estate after purchasing a piece by Magritte that was believed to be a pipe, but was later revealed not to be a pipe.” —

A great poet needs to leave open the door between the conscious and unconscious; Sarah Palin has removed her door from its hinges → prospect-magazine.co.uk

“And the relevance to me /With that issue, /As we spoke /About Africa and some /Of the countries /There that were /Kind of the people succumbing /To the dictators /And the corruption /Of some collapsed governments /On the /Continent, /The relevance /Was Alaska’s.”

i copied the entire poem. because i think the last line is the money line.

when i was just old enough to remember forever, my mother turned to me as she was washing dishes and said jackie onassis was the most fashionable woman who ever lived. but the only picture i had ever seen of her was the one where she was holding her husband's destroyed head. to this day when someone describes someone as fashionable i see jackie onassis's white gloves and pink suit covered in blood.

what is the difference between a child and a bag of cocaine? Eric Clapton wouldn't let a bag of cocaine fall out a window.

I did not write this joke but I endorse it . I endorse it so hard.
