I am going to start closing my work emails with

“Can I get a witness?”

“Oh, but we’re very, very busy zombies. We’re reading e-mail… tweeting and retweeting…downloading apps..uploading photos…updating our status and reading our news feeds…

You know what we’re not doing? We’re not thinking. We’re processing. There’s a difference.”

Are Digital Devices Like iPads Rotting Our Brains? - Newsweek.com

I agree with this, and it reminds me of my worry about the iPad— what Apple has launched is a device solely for consuming, with “creating” thrown right out the window. And my guess is that even typing something longer than, say, a text-message on it is a huge pain in the ass. I mean, what are you supposed to do, lay it flat on your lap, pull your elbows back then gnarl your hands into claws? That right there has gotta be strong impetus to stop “interacting” on the web and just fall back to “clicking on shit.”

(P.S. $5 says Noah is going to strongly disagree with this article.)

"The Material" by Kay Ryan

bmichael:

Whatever is done
leaves a hole in the
possible, a snip in
the gauze, a marble
and thimble missing
from the immaterial.
The laws are cruel
on this point. The
undone can’t be
patched or stretched.
The wounds last.
The bundles of
nothing that are
our gift at birth, the
lavish trains we
trail into our span
like vans of seamless
promise, like fresh
sheets in baskets,
are our stock. We
must extract parts
to do work. As
time passes, the
promise is tattered
like a battle flag
above a war we
hope mattered.

For Mother's Day

Your mother is so ugly, I can fuck her in any position and it’ll still be doggie-style.

(also I make her wear the macaroni necklace that you made her when you were five for mother’s day while we are doing it)

I like to talk to strangers. I like to go up to people I don't know and just start conversations with them, just start a conversation. Try it. But the way I do it, don't start the conversation in the beginning, just start it in the middle. Try it. Just go up to somebody you don't know and just go, 'Well how do you think I felt?'

Right now this sucker has 52 notes. For every REBLOG it gets today from this point on, I’ll give $1 to a charity of topherchris’s choosing.

If you think Photojojo, charities, employment, or dinosaurs are cool, PLEASE REBLOG.

My friend had a burrito. The next day he said, "That burrito did not agree with me." I was like, 'was the disagreement over whether or not you'd have diarrhea? Let me guess who won.' "I tried to reason with it, I insisted, you know. I was like, 'I wanna go outside, I like these pants, but the burrito had his way."

women who constantly take pictures of themselves at local bars

should be punished in hell by having to watch people get their pictures taken for accomplishing things of worth.
